 Peckpak GDK is well on the way to getting its first scorecard assessment. As a small, owner run, business we welcomed the recent SQE arrangement proposed by DTI which allows a qualifying business to concentrate on any 5 of the 7 scorecard categories. The SEESA organisation is currently categorizing Peckpak GDK's suppliers. In the scorecard matrix this will pose challenges for some time while companies wait for suppliers to be categorised down the supply chain.
Peckpak GDK staff have recently selected Margaret's Home for teenage boys as the company's social involvement partner. Margaret's Home is a suburban house in Lansdowne that is home to 17 male teenagers who are either orphaned or are being fostered under the watchful eye of Child Welfare. Peckpak GDK's inaugaration was celebrated with the presentation of Valentine's Day gifts to each of the boys. This project has been driven by factory staff and has provided an unexpected benefit to the company by way of the teambuilding and leadership identification that has materialised. |
